Meet Shannon

“Cynthia Shechter was my occupational therapist during the hardest days of recovery after a bilateral mastectomy and lymphadenectomies. When I first met her, I couldn’t lift my arms and struggled with basic tasks. I was also at high risk for lymphedema and deeply worried about it.
Cynthia guided me carefully and intentionally through recovery, always protecting against lymphedema risk. She spoke with my surgeons to fully understand my complex case and treated me as the strong person I was—even before I felt that way again.

Within weeks, I could open doors, lift a purse, and hug my children. Over time, she restored my motion, strength, and independence. That confidence became a critical part of my healing.
I wholeheartedly recommend her to any woman or family facing these challenges. It truly takes a village, and Cynthia was one of the greatest gifts in mine.”

I have been going to Shechter Care since June 2023 for Axillary Web Syndrome due to a lumpectomy and lymph node dissection the February. My right hand was very swollen as well as my arm and I had very limited range of motion. After going to for just one session with Cynthia I had immediate improvement! My swelling went down significantly after one visit and if it was not for her, my hand, arm and breast would have had little improvement instead of the almost total improvement that I now have.

Cynthia is so knowledgeable about breast cancer and breast cancer treatment. She goes above and beyond for her patients and truly treats them as though they are her family. Her time spent on you is extremely thorough and she goes out of her way to make sure you are getting the best care!

Her office staff is amazing and you feel welcomed the minute you step foot into their comforting office.

I can not say enough about Shechter Care and the quality of care that I have been receiving for the last six months, they truly are one of a kind.

I highly recommend this practice and truly thank them for their superior care and healing my body.
